HOW TO USE RIGHT FUNCTION IN EXCEL?

Many times while working in Excel, we come across a situation where we have a long text, but the useful content comprises of only a few letters in the RIGHT portion of the word. If this portion is needed to be trimmed for one row, it can be easily done manually for a single value but what if the number of rows is large?

Excel gives us a function named “RIGHT” for such cases. The next section of the page will show you the format of the function.

  • Select the cell where result is needed.
  • Put the formula =RIGHT(cell address with string, number of letters to be kept, counted from the right).
  •  Press Enter.
  • The result will appear as the only letters fulfilling the condition.
