Many times while working in Excel, we come across a situation where we have a long text, but the useful content comprises of only a few letters in the left portion of the word. If this portion is needed to be trimmed for one row, it can be easily done manually but what if the number of rows is above hundred?
Excel gives us a function named “LEFT” for such cases. The next section of the page will show you the format of the function.
In the above mentioned example, we have the text to be trimmed from the left in cell………..

The output shows the left 3 letters extracted from the text.
